Serving and Making Space for All Members
- Created a committee in her association which supports members who have recently moved to Canada
- Advocacy and support for members who face certification challenges due to credentials from outside of Canada
- Advocating for French translation of materials and training from MTS
Authored resolution at the 2023 Provincial Council for Services in the French Language, which was adopted
- Visiting members to listen and better understand their issues in all parts of the province
- Participating and volunteering at events for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community with groups such as Winnipeg Pride, Reel Pride, SERC, Rainbow Ressource, and Rainbow Pride Mosaic
Health and Safety for Members Everyday
- Brought in guest speakers to discuss WSH concerns with members
Initiated training for members on violence, harassment and psychological safety
Authored two resolutions at the 2024 Provincial Council related to WSH
- Presented to MTS senior leadership at Labour School on WSH concerns
Advocated for members with the employer to improve WSH practices
Authored handout for security measures when managing situations involving violent students
Continuing Political Initiatives
Contacted 60 candidates from 19 ridings with a Candidates Questionnaire during the 2023 provincial election
- Organized three town halls throughout the province in the 2022 school trustee election
Presented concerns on Bill 35 in April 2023 at the Manitoba Legislative Assembly
Participated at political events throughout the province, including the Rally for Public Education at the Manitoba Legislative Assembly in August 2023 and the U of M student advocacy coalition counter protest at the Manitoba Legislature
Authored letters lobbying government and advocating for members
Gave media interviews with several outlets throughout the province, advocating for member interests
